Mr. Zafar Ahmad is The Founder of the Red Onion restaurants and hotels chain. He shifted from the USA, California to Pakistan in 1991. With a vision and passion for the restaurant and hotel industry, he started his first restaurant in Blue Area, Islamabad.

After the successful ride to his first endeavor, within a year he opened a second branch in Murree in the year 1992. From that on, Red Onion has never stopped making a difference in the hospitality industry and kept on achieving greater success each year.

In the year 1995, Mr. Zafar Ahmad had a successful launch of “Sugar and Spice Coffee Shop”. Late Bibi Benazir Bhutto Shaheed inaugurated the branch. Mr. Zafar Ahmad expanded his business in 1997 to four other cities including, Karachi, Abbottabad, Nathia Gali, and Rawalpindi. All of these branches are located at prime locations. Until this day, Mr. Zafar Ahmad has achieved tremendous success in the restaurant and hotel business. All because of his vision of “Delivering the Best” to his customer and staff.

Other Endeavors

Apart from the success in Hotel and Restaurant industry, Mr. Zafar Ahmad had many successful partnerships and endeavors in the field.

• Red Onion had run the Cafeteria and Canteens in Parliament House and Parliament Lounge for more than a year.
• Red Onion provided catering services in Chashma, Mianwali in the hospitality of Chinese Officers for more than 3 months.
• We have the honor to serve more than 500 people per day in the Mobilink call center.
• We ran the Lawyer's Club Canteen successfully in Rawalpindi.
• Moreover, we also have a restaurant named "Déjà vu" in Zamzama, Karachi, and a "Red Onion" restaurant on the beach in Defense Housing Authority (DHA).
• The Haveli Restaurant in Karachi Arts Council was also reopened under the title of "Red Onion".
• More to the honors, we are also managing a Red Onion's Carter for 300 to 500 people every day.
• Recently, "Red Onion" had a successful launch of two more branches in Murree and Nathia Gali.
